Lab-Tested UV Protection
An independent lab used UV spectrophotometry to measure how much light passes through Slab Saver acrylic. The results show no measurable UV transmission, which helps preserve the condition and value of your graded comics and cards.
Key Findings from the Lab Report
0% UV transmittance from 200–400 nm
This range covers UVB and UVA radiation, the wavelengths most associated with:
Color fadingPaper degradationYellowing and brittleness
98.4% visible light transmittance (400–800 nm)
Nearly all visible light passes through, so labels and artwork stay clear and easy to see.
What this means: Your collectibles are shielded from UV light without sacrificing visibility or presentation.
Results are from the lab report linked in the Documentation section below, measured on an acrylic sample on the dates shown there.
Why UV Protection Matters for Collectors
Ultraviolet light is a leading cause of long-term damage to comics and trading cards, even indoors, where sunlight through windows and some artificial lighting still emit UV. Already have a graded slab? See why a display case still matters.
Without Protection
✕Ink pigments can fade and lose vibrancy
✕Paper fibers can break down over time
✕Books and cards can look aged or yellowed
✕Lower condition can mean lower resale value
With Slab Saver
✓Blocks UVA and UVB light in lab testing
✓Helps preserve original color, contrast, and condition
✓Supports the long-term life of your collection
Clear Acrylic, Clear View
Protection only matters if you can still enjoy the collection. Slab Saver uses high-grade acrylic chosen for optical clarity and display performance.
98.4% visible light transmission
Clear viewing with no haze or distortion
Labels stay sharp and readable
Artwork looks vivid and true-to-life, without the cloudy look of lower-quality cases
Protection and Presentation, Together
Many display cases force a tradeoff. Slab Saver is built to avoid it.
✕ High protection but poor clarity
✕ Clear display but no UV protection
✓ 0% measured UV transmittance (200–400 nm)
✓ 98.4% visible light transmission
✓ Designed specifically for graded comics and PSA card slabs

Documentation: Real Testing, Real Numbers
Our performance claims rest on an independent lab report and supporting documents from our manufacturing partner. The UV report is the source of the 0% and 98.4% figures. The other two documents cover factory quality and restricted-substance compliance, not UV performance.
